Capture the moment
Snap a photo or video from any moment that mattered today — the messy ones count too.
Now recruiting 10 beta families
Ruckus is a private family memory app where every photo or video can carry the story behind it — told in your own voice. Save the moment. Tell the story. Let your family hear it.
Free during beta · iOS and Android · No social feeds, ever
In active development · Beta date coming soon“She wouldn't stop laughing — that's the third time she'd asked Grandpa to do the silly voice.”
The idea
Most family albums save the photo. Ruckus saves the story.
Snap a photo or video from any moment that mattered today — the messy ones count too.
Tap record. Talk for up to two minutes about what just happened, why it was funny, who said the thing. Ruckus turns your voice into a transcript automatically.
Grandparents, aunts, uncles, the whole family — they don't just see the photo. They hear the moment in your actual voice. Years from now, that's the part they'll thank you for.
The little stories are usually the ones worth keeping.

Why I'm building this
I'm Zac Coleman, and I'm building Ruckus by myself.
Here's the part that won't leave me alone: I have hundreds of photos of my family on my phone. I have almost none of their voices. Not the way my dad tells a story. Not the sound of my kid mispronouncing "spaghetti." Not my grandmother's laugh.
Photos remember what something looked like. Voices remember who someone actually was.
Ruckus is a private family memory app where every photo or video can carry a short voice story — the context, the joke, the tiny moment that made it matter. It's just for your family. No public feeds, no algorithms, no ads.
I'm looking for ten real families to use the first version with me. You'll get early access, you'll talk directly to me when something breaks, and the app will get better because of what you tell me. If that sounds like you — especially if there's a voice in your family you'd hate to lose — I'd love for you to apply.

Founder, Ruckus
Private by design
Ruckus only works if you actually trust it. So here's exactly how it's built.
Ruckus has no public profiles, no discovery, no "for you" feed. The only people who see your memories are the family members you invite.
Voice recordings are stored privately in your family's space. Transcripts are generated for captions and search — nothing else. Your audio is never used to train AI models.
Children under 13 don't get standalone accounts in the beta. Parents manage child profiles. Period.
Account deletion is built into the app from day one — not buried, not a support email. When you delete, your photos, videos, voices, and data are removed within 30 days.
Full privacy policy and terms will be linked here before launch.
FAQs
The beta starts soon with ten families I'm hand-picking. The public App Store and Google Play release will follow once the beta has shaped the product. If you apply, you'll be the first to know either way.
